How the Estimate Works

The calculator uses an effective MET that factors in intensity level:[1]

Effective MET = Water Activity MET × Intensity Multiplier

Calories = (Effective MET × 3.5 × Wt_kg × Duration_min) ÷ 200

In interval mode, work periods use the effective MET while rest periods use resting MET (1.0). Total calories sum both phases.

Water Aerobics, High Intensity (7.5 MET)
