How to Measure Waist Circumference

Accurate waist measurement is critical for RFM precision. Follow these steps:

  1. Stand upright and relax your abdomen — do not suck in.
  2. Place a flexible tape measure around your midsection at the level of your navel (belly button).
  3. The tape should be snug but not compressing the skin, parallel to the floor.
  4. Take the measurement at the end of a normal exhale.
  5. Record to the nearest 0.5 cm or 0.25 inch.
  6. For consistency, measure at the same time of day (ideally morning before eating).
