How to Measure Your Waist Correctly
- Measure at the narrowest point above the navel, typically between the bottom of the ribcage and the top of the hip bones.
- Keep the tape parallel to the floor and snug against the skin without compressing.
- Take the reading at the end of a normal exhale — do not suck in or hold your breath.
- Use a flexible cloth tape; measure at the same time of day for consistency.[4]
